Edith L. Slocum Elementary School

In honor of Veterans Day, Mrs. Jonas’ kindergarten class at Edith L. Slocum Elementary celebrated the heroes in their everyday lives. Families shared photos of veterans, both in uniform and with their children, to help students understand that veterans are not only brave service members also family members, friends, and neighbors in our community. 

During the lesson, students discussed the photos, created patriotic crafts and wrote letters to be mailed to veterans, expressing gratitude for their service and bravery.
